Joey Gardiner Releases New Single 'Clean' Out Now

Listen to Clean here

Rising alt-rock talent Joey Gardiner returns with Clean, a strikingly vulnerable and emotionally mature new single that marks a pivotal moment in his artistic evolution.

Following the raw intensity of his breakthrough track Bloodbath, Gardiner’s new release shifts into a completely different emotional landscape. Clean is the exhale after chaos, a song that captures the clarity and hard-won peace that follows emotional turmoil.

Conceived through a metaphorical lens of addiction, the track sees Gardiner confronting the shadows of his past, acknowledging mistakes, and allowing himself to finally let go. “Clean is the calm after the storm, the rage I had in me, the emotions I’ve now come clean with,Gardiner explains. “It’s Bloothbath’s follow-up. I’ve tried to capture the feeling of moving on with Clean.”

The single’s emotional weight is matched by Gardiner’s signature sonic palette. Atmospheric indie rock infused with his influences, from Ben Howard’s introspective depth to the expansive soundscapes of Kings of Leon and The 1975. Yet Clean marks the beginning of something new: a more refined, more grounded Joey Gardiner, unafraid to explore the aftermath instead of the explosion.

At just 23, Gardiner has already carved out a name as one of the UK’s most promising young songwriters. His willingness to lay bare his inner world, even its most painful and uncomfortable corners has earned him growing support across BBC Introducing West, BBC Radio Bristol, and BBC Radio 1’s Discover Live.

With Clean, Gardiner doesn’t just tell the next chapter of his story, he turns the page entirely. The result is a cathartic, cleansing, and deeply human single that invites listeners into the moment when healing finally begins.
