ELLA CONDER
Writing and producing music from her University bedroom in Leeds, Ella Conder is making electronic sounds with influences from SYML, Kate Bush, Billie Eilish, and film scores. Writing is her way of zooming out and making sense of chaos. Ella wants to create music that resonates with people, just as the songs that shaped her have done.
PIHKA IS MY NAME
Pihka Is My Name are a Finland-based electronic duo who combine analogue synthesizers, hypnotic piano patterns and crunchy drum machines. Band members are composer-pianist Henna Helasvuo and producer-sound designer Lasse Turunen. The band is fronted by animation character called Pihka, an obsolete imaginary friend.
IOTA
Blending grunge, early 2000s rock, and shoegaze, IOTA delivers a raw, emotional punch in Bristol’s DIY scene. Whispers turn to screams, and ethereal harmonies crash into distorted climaxes. Their guitars weave with electric chemistry noisy rhythms pushing boundaries, lead lines seeping in. IOTA will make you violently shake your head, whilst shedding a tear in the process.
JOEY GARDINER
Bristol based BIMM Alumni Joey Gardiner proclaimed that “early 1975 vibes” was the aim, and a main and clear influence on the body of work he was set to write.
Whilst the conventions and feel of young, indie bedroom pop are there, the rule breaking shines through as his catalogue takes on a more rough and ready rock like feel with a nod to some darker subjects, touching upon mental health and addiction.
PROFILER
Profiler is a Nu-Metal reawakening, inspired by those who have incited change in genres, arts, and theories. It's a weight of legacy that the band is comfortable shouldering.
After starting as a solo project in Bristol, UK, Mike Evans (vocal and guitar) stepped out from the studio and onto the stage, enlisting bassist/vocalist Joe Johnson, the pair would go on to write and record 2024’s debut album, A Digital Nowhere (SharpTone Records). Joining on drums is Jacob Andrews, who along with guitarist Jay Evans, cements the line-up that would continue to promote the album and underpin the live show.
Profiler's nu-metal-grunge-alt-rock, call it what you want, is an abrasive distorted soundscape that reverently glances back to those genres' heydays. Profiler is for anyone who misses or missed the contagious nineties Seattle grunge movement or the explosion of nu-metal that dominated the 00s and the genre-bending bands they made a path for.
