Emerging artist and producer Ella Conder is set to make her debut with I Won’t Speak Today, a moody, cinematic pop single that blends nostalgic tip-hop textures with an alternative edge. The track is released via Mahogany Songs, marking the arrival of a distinctive new voice in the UK music scene.
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Massive Attack, Gorillaz, and Kate Bush, Ella has crafted an intimate soundworld from her bedroom studio in Hampshire, channeling her love of film music into atmospheric production and emotionally raw songwriting.
I Won’t Speak Today was written and recorded in Ella’s university accommodation and captures the complicated emotions of young adulthood. With its shadowy beats, lush soundscapes, and haunting melodies, the single reflects the modern pressure to always present our best selves - offering instead an honest, contemplative soundtrack for late-night reflection.
“This song is about those moments where you retreat into yourself rather than forcing conversation of performance,” Ella explains. “I wanted to create something that feels like a safe space for those feelings, where silence says more than words.”
At just 22 years old, Ella has been writing and singing since the age of 15. While studying in Leeds, she honed her craft through live performances that sparked her passion for sharing her own music. Her debut with Mahogany Songs signals the beginning of an exciting journey toward her first EP, set to be unveiled in 2026.
I Won’t Speak Today introduces Ella as one of the most intriguing new voices in cinematic electronic pop.
