IOTA lay bare the weight of dependency on new single 'Sober'

IOTA LAY BARE THE WEIGHT OF DEPENDENCY

ON NEW SINGLE SOBER

An unflinching portrait of addiction and escape,

delivered with raw emotion and haunting power

Bristol-based alt-rock band IOTA are set to release their evocative new single Sober, offering a gripping exploration of dependency, emotional chaos, and the search for escape.

Blending cathartic vocals with gritty guitar work, Sober is a compelling addition to IOTA’s rapidly growing catalogue of emotionally resonant rock. The track delves into the haunting experience of leaning on a vice-whether substance, feeling, or person, to get through life, even when you know it’s doing more harm than good.

Singer Jodie shares: “Sober is about relying so heavily on something that life feels impossible without it. Like an addiction you know it’s harmful, but nothing feels right in its absence. You turn to it to silence the noise, to escape when everything else feels wrong.”

Formed in the heart of Bristol’s thriving music scene, IOTA have carved out a reputation for their intense live performances and raw, soul-baring songwriting. With previous releases earning acclaim from the likes of BBC Introducing, Sober marks a bold step forward in the band’s sonic journey.

This latest release continues IOTA’s tradition of tackling hard truths through a lens of poetic honesty and gritty instrumentation. Fans of Wolf Alice, Big Thief, and early Radiohead will find themselves right at home in IOTA’s shadowy, immersive soundscape.
